Terms of Service

Last updated: 31 August 2026

1. Overview

This website is operated by Wu De Tea LLP. Throughout this website, the terms “Wu De Tea,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to Wu De Tea LLP.

Wu De Tea offers this website, including its information, products, services and purchasing facilities, subject to these Terms of Service.

By visiting our website, placing an order or purchasing from us, you agree to these Terms of Service and the policies incorporated into them, including our Return and Refund Policy, Shipping and Delivery Policy, and Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the website or place an order.

3. Eligibility

By placing an order, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian;

  • The information provided with your order is accurate and complete;

  • You are authorised to use the selected payment method; and

  • You are purchasing for lawful purposes.

We may decline or cancel an order where we reasonably suspect fraud, unauthorised payment, unlawful activity, resale abuse or inaccurate customer information.

4. Products

Wu De Tea sells Jian Zhan tea bowls, tea cups, ceramics, accessories, gift sets and related products.

Many Jian Zhan pieces are handmade, individually glazed, kiln-fired and one of a kind. Natural variations may include differences in:

  • Glaze colour and pattern;

  • Crystallisation, iron spots and kiln marks;

  • Shape, symmetry and surface texture;

  • Dimensions, capacity and weight; and

  • Appearance under different lighting conditions.

These characteristics are part of the ceramic-making and firing process and are not normally considered defects when they are consistent with the product description and photographs.

We make reasonable efforts to describe and photograph each product accurately. However, colours may appear differently depending on lighting, photography and screen settings.

Customers may contact us before ordering to request additional photographs, videos, measurements or product information.

5. Contemporary and antique items

Unless a listing expressly states otherwise and provides supporting information, products sold by Wu De Tea are contemporary pieces and are not represented as antiques or Song-dynasty artefacts.

Any statement regarding an artist, workshop, firing method, certificate, provenance, period or material is based on the information available to us at the time of listing.

For collector and high-value pieces, customers are encouraged to review all available documentation and request further information before purchase.

6. Prices

Unless otherwise stated, prices displayed on the website are in Singapore dollars.

Prices may change without notice, but a price change will not affect an order that we have already accepted.

We reserve the right to correct genuine pricing, description or inventory errors. If an error affects an order, we will contact the customer and offer the option to proceed on the corrected terms or receive a cancellation and refund.

Promotional prices, discount codes and special offers may be subject to separate conditions, availability periods and quantity limits.

7. Orders and contract formation

Submitting an order does not automatically mean that we have accepted it.

After an order is submitted, the customer may receive an automated acknowledgement. A contract of sale is formed when we confirm acceptance of the order or arrange fulfilment, whichever occurs first.

We may decline or cancel an order before acceptance for reasons including:

  • The product is no longer available;

  • A price or description contains a genuine error;

  • Payment cannot be authorised;

  • Delivery cannot reasonably be arranged;

  • Customer details are incomplete or incorrect; or

  • We reasonably suspect fraud or misuse.

If payment has already been collected for an order we cannot accept, we will arrange a refund to the original payment method.

8. Payment

Available payment methods are shown during checkout or agreed directly with Wu De Tea.

The customer must pay the full purchase price and any disclosed delivery charges before delivery unless we agree otherwise in writing.

For reservations, commissions or high-value pieces, we may require a deposit. Any deposit conditions, including whether and when the deposit is refundable, will be clearly communicated and agreed before payment.

Customers should never disclose banking passwords, payment PINs or one-time passwords to Wu De Tea.

9. Personal delivery

Wu De Tea currently provides personal delivery within its available delivery area.

After an order is accepted, we will contact the customer to arrange a delivery date, time and location. The customer is responsible for providing accurate contact and delivery information.

The customer or an authorised recipient should inspect the product, certificate, box and accessories during delivery where reasonably possible.

Acceptance at delivery confirms that the order was received without visible damage or obvious missing items. It does not affect rights relating to hidden defects, incorrectly supplied goods or products that do not conform to the contract.

If no one is available at the agreed delivery time, we may arrange another attempt. A reasonable additional delivery charge may apply if this was disclosed before redelivery.

Delivery timeframes are estimates unless we expressly agree to a guaranteed delivery date.

10. Transfer of possession and responsibility

Possession and responsibility for accidental damage generally pass to the customer when the product is personally delivered to and accepted by the customer or their authorised recipient.

This provision does not remove or limit any rights concerning goods that were defective, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described at the time of delivery.

11. Cancellations, returns and refunds

Cancellations, returns, exchanges and refunds are governed by our Return and Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms of Service.

Customers should contact us promptly if an order needs to be changed or cancelled. We will try to accommodate requests made before processing or delivery, but cancellation may not be possible after fulfilment has begun.

Custom, personalised or commissioned products may be subject to separate cancellation conditions that will be communicated before payment.

Nothing in these terms limits any non-excludable rights or remedies available under applicable Singapore law.

12. Collector and high-value pieces

Collector pieces may require additional procedures, including:

  • Identity or payment verification;

  • A private viewing or consultation;

  • Review of photographs, certificates and provenance information;

  • A deposit or reservation agreement;

  • Personal delivery and inspection; and

  • Written confirmation of receipt.

These procedures are intended to protect both the customer and Wu De Tea. Any additional terms will be disclosed before the customer commits to the purchase.

The purchase price of a piece does not constitute a promise that it will appreciate in value. Wu De Tea does not provide investment, valuation or financial advice unless expressly agreed in writing.

13. Product care and use

Ceramic products are fragile and must be handled carefully.

Customers should follow any care instructions supplied with the product. Wu De Tea is not responsible for damage caused after delivery by:

  • Dropping or impact;

  • Improper cleaning;

  • Thermal shock or sudden temperature changes;

  • Microwave, oven or dishwasher use where not expressly approved;

  • Abrasive cleaning products;

  • Incorrect storage;

  • Modification or repair by another party; or

  • Use inconsistent with the product’s intended purpose.

This section does not apply to defects or non-conformity that existed at the time of delivery.

14. Website availability and accuracy

We aim to keep the website available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will always operate without interruption, delay or technical error.

We may update, suspend or discontinue website features when reasonably necessary. This does not affect existing accepted orders or customers’ statutory rights.

Product availability displayed online may not always update immediately because many items are unique and may also be offered through private viewings or other sales channels.

15. Prohibited use

You must not use the website:

  • For an unlawful or fraudulent purpose;

  • To infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights;

  • To submit false or misleading information;

  • To transmit malicious code;

  • To interfere with the website’s security or operation;

  • To scrape, copy or exploit website content without permission;

  • To impersonate another person; or

  • To attempt an unauthorised transaction.

We may restrict access or cancel an affected order where we reasonably believe the website is being misused.

16. Intellectual property

The Wu De Tea name, logo, branding, photographs, videos, product descriptions, certificates, designs, illustrations and website content are owned by or licensed to Wu De Tea unless otherwise stated.

You may view the website and retain order-related information for personal, non-commercial use. You must not reproduce, modify, publish, sell, distribute or commercially exploit our content without prior written permission.

Purchase of a product does not transfer ownership of intellectual-property rights in its photographs, packaging, certificate, branding or related content.

17. Third-party services and links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites or use services provided by Shopify, payment processors, social-media platforms and other providers.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. Wu De Tea is not responsible for unrelated third-party content or services outside our reasonable control.

18. Shopify

Our online store is hosted by Shopify, which provides the ecommerce platform used to offer products and services to customers.

Information submitted through the store may be processed by Shopify and relevant service providers, including providers located outside Singapore, to operate the store, process payments, prevent fraud, provide customer services and support other functions described in our Privacy Policy.

Please review our Privacy Policy for more information about how personal data is collected, used, disclosed and protected.

19. Reviews and customer content

If you voluntarily submit a review, photograph, testimonial or other content, you confirm that:

  • You created it or have permission to share it;

  • It is accurate and not misleading;

  • It does not infringe another person’s rights; and

  • It does not contain unlawful, abusive or malicious material.

We will obtain appropriate permission before using identifiable customer photographs or private messages for public marketing.

We may remove website reviews or content that are fraudulent, unlawful, irrelevant or abusive, but we will not suppress genuine criticism merely because it is unfavourable.

20. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wu De Tea will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the order was accepted.

Nothing in these Terms of Service excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including applicable liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, personal injury caused by negligence, or non-excludable consumer rights.

Where liability may lawfully be limited, our liability relating to a product will generally not exceed the amount paid for that product, except where a different remedy is required by law.

21. Events outside reasonable control

We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, accidents, transport disruption, government action, public emergencies, platform outages or payment-network failures.

If such an event materially delays an order, we will communicate with the customer and offer an appropriate solution where reasonably possible.

22. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal data are governed by our Privacy Policy.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that delivery and contact information supplied to us is accurate and that they have permission to provide another recipient’s information.

23. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service to reflect changes in our business, website, policies or legal obligations.

The version applying to an order is generally the version published when that order is placed, unless a change is required by law or agreed with the customer.

The latest version will be published on this page with its updated date.

24. Severability

If any part of these Terms of Service is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

25. No waiver

If we do not immediately enforce a provision of these terms, this does not mean that we waive the right to enforce it later.

26. Entire agreement

These Terms of Service, together with the policies and order-specific terms expressly incorporated into them, form the agreement between Wu De Tea and the customer concerning the relevant purchase.

27. Governing law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Singapore.

The parties will first attempt to resolve any dispute in good faith through direct communication. If a dispute cannot be resolved, either party may pursue the remedies available under Singapore law.
