谢松青 Hare's Fur JianZhan Tea Bowl

This is a collector's piece of the highest tier — a wide, grand-master JianZhan that commands the room. At 28cm in diameter and 11.3cm in height, this is a generously scaled bowl that demands exceptional kiln mastery to fire evenly — a form rarely attempted at this size.

The amber-brown hare's fur glaze radiates from a deep obsidian centre, thousands of fine iron striations fanning outward to the rim like rays of light through ancient timber. The gradation from black to warm amber is seamless and total — achieved only through a master's command of iron clay composition, kiln temperature, and flame atmosphere.

The hare's fur pattern here is unusually dense, uniform, and fine — a hallmark of 谢松请 (Xie Songqing), working at the absolute peak of the Jianyang tradition. The wide, open form follows the Song court aesthetic: generous, unhurried, and built for the deepest appreciation of tea.
