Mountain Landscape Painting JianZhan Tea Bowl | 朱信丛 朱哥建盏
A thousand-year-old landscape, reborn in iron and flame.
This exceptional wide-form Jianzhan tea bowl by 朱信丛 (Zhū Xìn Cóng) of 朱哥建盏 is a rare fusion of traditional 建盗 ceramics and classical Chinese ink painting. Rendered across the exterior in fine black brushwork on a shimmering olive-gold glaze are scenes of 山水画 (shānshǐ) — mountains rising behind weeping willows on one face; ancient pine trees reaching toward mist-covered peaks on the other. A red seal stamp marks the artist’s hand.
The glaze itself is extraordinary: a warm olive-gold with dense, luminous hare’s fur texture covering the full body, deepening to rich amber at the lip. In sunlight, the brushwork shimmers against the glaze like ink dissolving in still water.
This piece carries the energy of 風水 (fēngshuǐ) — mountains for stability, trees for longevity, water for flow and abundance. It is as much an object of contemplation as it is a vessel for tea.
