Olive-Gold Flower Rim Hare's Fur JianZhan Tea Bowl | 朱信丛 朱哥建盏
Every inch alive with gold. The rim blooms like a flower.
This rare flower-rim Jianzhan tea bowl by 朱信丛 (Zhū Xìn Cóng) of 朱哥建盏 combines two exceptional qualities in a single piece: a sculpted, wavy petal rim — each lobe rising and dipping in an organic, asymmetric rhythm — and a surface covered in exceptionally dense gold hare’s fur streaks on a warm olive-green ground.
The flower-rim form (花口建盏) is among the most difficult to execute in Jianzhan craft. The rim must be hand-shaped before firing, and the uneven wall thickness means the glaze behaves differently at every point — requiring precise kiln management to achieve an even, beautiful result. The golden rim edge, where the glaze pools and thins at each petal tip, is a hallmark of a master’s hand.
The interior is a deep, dark green-black at the centre, warming to olive and gold toward the rim — the dense hare’s fur streaks visible in every direction, shimmering like silk thread woven into iron.
