Olive Green 佛度杯 錢袋杯 JianZhan Tea Cup | 朱信丛 朱哥建盏

$688.00

The Buddha’s grace, held in iron and flame.

This extraordinary cup by 朱信丛 (Zhū Xìn Cóng) of 朱哥建盏 is known by two poetic names: 佛度杯 (Fó Dù Bēi) — Buddha’s Grace Cup — and 錢袋杯 (Qián Dài Bēi) — Money Bag Cup. Both names describe the same distinctive silhouette: a wide, swelling belly that narrows at the neck before opening at the rim, at once resembling an ancient incense censer, the fullness of a Buddha’s robe, and the rounded form of a traditional silk money bag — a shape long associated with abundance and good fortune.

This form is among the rarest in contemporary Jianzhan craft — demanding a fundamentally different hand than the classic conical bowl, and far more difficult to fire evenly given the dramatic change in wall thickness.

The exterior is glazed in a deep, complex olive-green with dense hare’s fur streaks running vertically across the full belly — fine, even, and luminous, shifting between forest green and warm bronze as the light changes. The cream-coloured unglazed rim edge provides a clean, elegant contrast.

The interior reveals a different character entirely: a deep black oil-drop centre surrounded by a dense field of silver-olive hare’s fur radiating outward toward the rim — like looking into a dark pool ringed by light.

Presented in a navy blue 朱信丛 gift box with gold foil plaque and braided cord, with 收藏證書 (Collector’s Certificate).

One piece. Unrepeatable. Comes with collector’s certificate and gift box.
