Olive Silver Snowfall JianZhan Tea Bowl | 朱信丛 朱哥建盏

First snow on a forest floor — silent, sudden, perfect.

This classic conical Jianzhan tea bowl by 朱信丛 (Zhū Xìn Cóng) of 朱哥建盏 is defined by one of the most dramatic glaze contrasts in this collection. The lower body is a deep, muted olive-green — earthy and grounded — while the upper third erupts in a dense cascade of white and silver spots, pooling and clustering like snowfall settling on dark moss. The transition between the two zones is abrupt and natural, as only a wood-fired kiln can produce.

This effect — sometimes called 油滴玉现 or silver oil-drop — is among the most prized in Jianzhan scholarship. Each spot is a tiny crystalline bloom formed in the final minutes of firing, impossible to plan and impossible to repeat.
