Rich Russet Tortoiseshell JianZhan Tea Bowl | 朱信丛 朱哥建盏

$688.00

The warmth of autumn earth, held in your hands.

This wide, rounded Jianzhan tea bowl by 朱信丛 (Zhū Xìn Cóng) of 朱哥建盏 is glazed in a deep, rich russet-brown with large, irregular tortoiseshell and partridge-spot patterns scattered across the surface. The spots are warm amber and dark umber — overlapping and organic, as if the glaze remembered the markings of an ancient shell.

In Jianzhan scholarship, this effect is classified as 鹧鸣斯 (zh⌫ méi bān) or partridge-spot — one of the three classical Song Dynasty glaze types alongside hare’s fur and oil-drop. It is among the most historically significant and sought-after in collector circles.

The wide rounded form is generous and grounding — ideal for cupping in both hands during a slow tea session. The warmth of this glaze makes it a natural companion for aged pu-erh and roasted oolongs.

Presented in a navy blue 朱信丛 gift box with gold foil plaque and braided cord, with 收藏證書 (Collector’s Certificate).

One piece. Unrepeatable. Comes with collector’s certificate and gift box.
