Pure Black Mirror Glaze JianZhan Tea Bowl | 朱信丛 朱哥建盏
Still as ink. Deep as night.
This wide, shallow Jianzhan tea bowl by 朱信丛 (Zhū Xìn Cóng) of 朱哥建盏 is glazed in a pure, unbroken 乌金釉 (wūjīn yòu) — black-gold glaze — fired to a deep, mirror-like lustre with almost no surface pattern. The glaze is completely still, absorbing light rather than reflecting it, creating a sense of infinite depth.
In a tradition known for dramatic surface effects, this bowl takes the opposite path. It is an exercise in restraint and mastery — achieving perfection through absence. The tea poured into it appears to float on pure darkness.
The wide, shallow form maximises the visual surface and is ideal for appreciating the colour of aged white tea, pu-erh, or light oolong. A bowl for those who find beauty in simplicity.
Presented in a navy blue 朱信丛 gift box with gold foil plaque and braided cord, with 收藏證書 (Collector’s Certificate).
